THE subject of Prostate Cancer has been in the news recently, especially following the sad death of Bill Turnbull.

The advice to all men is “Please get tested!”

All men over 40 years of age are asked to please register, and then book an appointment on-line, for a very quick and simple blood test that could save their life.

One in eight men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

The majority of the cancers found through testing by the charity, PSA Tests, more than 2,200, are in men showing no symptoms whatsoever.

One of the next Testing Events will take place at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum, between 6.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday, September 14.

Recent similar testing events proved popular with 321 men tested at Launceston Rugby Club on July 20, 368 men tested at Bude on August 4, 448 men tested at South Molton on August 17 and 282 tested at Saltash on August 31.

The charity, which has been run for the last 10 years, and which has saved countless lives, has tested thousands of men in Devon and Cornwall.

Early detection definitely saves lives, and increases effective treatment options.

Men are advised to register and book a time for their appointment online via the website: www.mypsatests.org.uk .

If you have any questions, queries, are unable to book online or have problems booking your appointment, please telephone 01926 419959 or email: [email protected] .

A minimum donation of £20 would be welcomed.

Other local testing events will take place at Penzance on September 21, Wadebridge Camels Rugby Club on October 12, Falmouth on November 2 and Torquay on November 23.
