A LONG-SERVING member of staff at Stapletons chartered accountants of Crediton has fulfilled his ambition to become a partner in the business.
Martin Rice joined the practice as a senior accountant in 2013 and was later promoted to practice manager.
It was in 2012 that Martin (33), who has always lived and worked in the town, qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
He has worked in accountancy since he left Queen Elizabeth’s in Crediton.
“I am delighted to have been appointed as a partner of the firm. It has always been my ambition to reach this level since I began my accountancy career,” he explained.
Martin completed his Chartered qualification whilst continuing to work full-time, and completes 40 hours training each year to maintain his Certification to the profession, which includes keeping up with current legislation.
He admitted that he had to remain focussed and dedicated to reach his goal.
Stapletons is based at 4 Market Street, Crediton. It was founded as J T Stapleton and Co in the early 1980’s but the offices have been the location of accountancy businesses for more than 100 years.
Chris Bird qualified with ICAEW at an international firm of Chartered Accountants and became a partner of J T Stapleton and Co in 1997.
Helen Geatches is a qualified Accounting Technician and Tax Technician and became a partner in 2010.
Martin became a partner on July 1.
All three partners have experience in all areas of the accountancy profession.
Together they offer competitive fixed fees and an attitude of commitment and enthusiasm.
Helen said: “Chris and I would like to welcome Martin as a partner and we look forward to continuing to provide a valued service to the people of Crediton and further afield.
“As a practice we are dedicated to working closely with our clients to provide a high level of service.”
Helen, who was recently re-elected as an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) council member, said that she was delighted with Martin’s appointment and said that it ensures the continuation of the practice and helps to secure the future of the business.
