FIRE crews from Chulmleigh and South Molton released a man stuck beneath a ride on lawnmower just off the A377 between Newnham Bridge to Elston Cross, Umberleigh yesterday, Sunday, November 24.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at 4.16pm and the firefighters liaised with paramedics to free the man.

Fire crews lit an area nearby to enable an air ambulance to land and take off to take the seriously injured man to Derriford Hospital at Plymouth.

The man remains in hospital.
