A CREDITON volunteer charity campaigner aims to fly high with her next charity fundraising venture.
Maggi Orasnjak (73), will be completing a wing walk on a light aircraft from Dunkeswell in aid of local charity, Hospiscare, at the end of July.
Maggi explained: “It’s a very hard time for Hospiscare to raise money at the moment so I am going to do a wing walk in July for them.
“Because of the Lockdown I cannot collect donations on the street at the moment but Paul and Tara at Evans Newsagents and the ‘Courier’ office have kindly offered to have a collection box in their premises for me.
“It would be marvellous if anyone who knows me could sponsor me for this event. Thank you so much.”
When asked if she was scared about doing the wing walk Maggie explained: “I am really looking forward to doing it!
“I did one in aid of the charity Anthony Nolan about 20 years ago.
“I was previously involved with supporting that charity and gave my bone marrow to a donor.
“She relapsed and I gave some more, that was in 1997, and the lady that received my bone marrow is still alive.”
Maggi said that she supports Hospiscare because the charity had looked after her mother “kindly” more than 20 years ago.
In addition, Maggi formerly worked voluntarily at the Hospice helping clients learn craftwork.
Please mark donations for the attention of Maggi Orasnjak.
