A LOCAL fundraiser who has had her long hair cut for The Little Princess Trust charity has so far raised £565.

Connie Gorrett of Nikki Blanchford Hair and Beauty Salon in Crediton prepares Star’s hair to get the maximum length for the charity.

Connie Gorrett cuts the first bunch on Star’s hair at the salon in Crediton ready to send to The Little Princess Trust.

Connie Gorrett cuts Star’s remaining hair to a grade two length at the Crediton Salon.

Star Grehan, a mum of three from Bow, previously donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust 10 years ago, and decided to grow it again so that she could make another donation.

Star had her hair cut and prepared for the charity by Connie Gorrett at Nikki Blanchford Hair and Beauty Salon in Crediton on Thursday, November 30.

Her hair will be sent to the charity, which provides real hair wigs, free-of-charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.

The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK and relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters.

Star said that losing close family members to cancer had inspired her to donate to the charity again.

She said: “I appreciate everybody who has made a donation, especially at this time of year.

“I feel very fortunate because I don’t have a lot to give but I can do this to help the charity.”
