I WAS recently in Mellieha, Malta, on holiday and visited the Grotto of Our Lady, an underground chapel that would have been greatly used during the Second World War as it is just across the road from the air raid tunnels.
You might imagine my surprise when I saw a very moving tribute to Samuel Crocker, the little boy who was killed in a vehicle accident in Crediton last year. It was protected by a plastic envelope and pinned to the chapel notice board.
I hope that if you publish this letter that Samuel’s parents will get some comfort by knowing that their messages, as I imagine there will be others elsewhere, are reaching out to people who are aware of their loss.
