AS the Vice Chair of Community Well-Being at Mid Devon District Council, which makes the final decisions on grant applications from local groups, I’d like to reassure local residents that I will champion the interests of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in Crediton to protect it from the severest cuts because of the vital work it does to support the most vulnerable members of the community (“Crediton Courier” page one, November 13).

I can say this with real conviction, having been a member of CAB Citizens’ Panel since 2007, and I am attending the CAB AGM in Tavistock tonight, where I hope to reassure them of more encouraging news to come regarding their grant allocation from Mid Devon.
