THE third and final set of Summer Lunchtime Recitals will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 23 and 24, at Crediton Congregational Church, starting at 1.10pm.

The first is a recital of piano and flute music, including works by French composers Ravel and Debussy, given by Carol Galton and Robert Stephenson (flute).

The second features pianist Alex Willson who will focus on British music of a century ago, with Sir Hubert Parry’s "Shulbrede Tunes", and a piano arrangement of Sir Edward Elgar’s "Enigma Variations". Doors open for complimentary refreshments at 12.45pm.

As in the two previous years, these events have been very well supported, with audiences of between 50 and 70 people.

The recitals are a joint project between the Music Makers’ and Crediton Congregational Church. They are generously supported by Crediton Town Council, and also kindly sponsored by Hillbrow Residential Care Home.

The events are free, but donations are invited towards supporting the costs of the musicians, who have given their services for free, and provided six memorable occasions to listen to live music at a remarkable quality.
