Dave Cann was presented with an inscribed Crediton Plate for his service to the town, of more than 30 years, keeping it clean and tidy road sweeping, on the dustcart in the town and for his other work with town organisations.
The second recipient of a Crediton Plate was Jenny Smith, who, said the Mayor, has "worked tirelessly for the charity, MS (Multiple Sclerosis)".
The third recipient of such an award, Ray Wicker, was described as "a pillar of the church in Crediton". He was also thanked for his contribution as a volunteer driver over many years.
The Mayoress of Crediton, Mrs Natalia Letch, assisted her husband in presenting the awards.
Before the presentations, Cllr Letch addressed the guests, which included representatives of many of the town organisations, including many from various voluntary organisations.
