CHILDREN at Hayward’s Primary School in Crediton took part in a “Strictly Come Dancing” television-style competition as part of the school’s BBC Children in Need fundraising appeal.

Every pupil took part and the finals were held in front of four judges, just like the television competition.

Compere was the event organiser, class teacher Scott Baker.

Winners after a close-fought final held in front of the whole school were pupils, Kacey and Beth, both aged nine years.

Mr Baker said he was pleased to report that more than £400 was raised for Children in Need from the event.

The BBC filmed some of the children dancing and this was shown on Spotlight on two evenings.
