WESTERNLEA at Crediton was well worth a visit at Christmas when most houses were bedecked with light displays.  So much so that the judges of the lights said it had been “extremely difficult”.

They said it was “a fantastic display as there were all worthy winners” but they eventually made their choice.

This was the third year of the Christmas Lights at Westernlea, judges being members of Crediton Hamlets Parish Council Cllr Andy Cole and Cllr Nick Yarnold.

Winner was Jim and Carol Pearn’s home, winning them a £50 voucher for the Three Little Pigs, sponsored by the parish council.

They even had lights leading up the roof of their bungalow to an illuminated Santa at the chimney.  Among it all they had 14 strings of lights.
