LAST Saturday saw the annual Senior Citizen’s Christmas lunch and party, organised by the two Rotary Club’s of Crediton and held in the Boniface Centre.
A roast dinner, with all the trimmings, was served by Rotary Club members and the tables were decorated with a vase of red carnations and there were crackers for everyone.
MC for the afternoon was Rotarian Brian Shillingford.
As is traditional each year a presentation was made to the oldest gentleman and lady at the party. This year 96-years-old Irene Spencer from Sandford was the oldest lady with Reg Nott (aged 90) being the oldest man. They were both presented with a special gift.
Entertainment came from members of Crediton Town Band who played Christmas carols. There were also games of bingo played, one with the prize of a large hamper donated by Hillbrow Residential Care Home in Crediton.
All agreed it was a lovely afternoon and thanks go to the Rotary Club’s for organising the event and all the helpers.
