THE island of Crete was the honeymoon destination for a local couple who married in a civil ceremony held at Saunton Sands Hotel, North Devon.

The bride was Louise Morgan, only daughter of Sheila and Peter Morgan of Copplestone.

Her bridegroom was Steven Edworthy, oldest son of Janette and Peter Edworthy of Bow.

Bridesmaids were Yasmin Brookes and Charly Marie Edworthy and page boy was Thomas Edworthy. Best man was Neil Edworthy.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Saunton Sands Hotel.

The couple are making their home at Tors View, Station Road, Bow.

It was in July 2008 that Steve was in a near fatal road accident. Since that time he has made a wonderful recovery.

Recently Steve and his family had a party to celebrate and raised a total of £1,000, which has been sent to Leicester Hospital, towards ECMO (extra corporeal membrane oxygenation) machines.

It is hoped that the funding will help someone else who may be in a similar situation.
