ON Wednesday, October 15, Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School and Nursery were delighted to welcome 22 senior citizens from the school and village community for the annual harvest lunch.

Members of the school council and Beech class did a fantastic job serving the guests and helping throughout the afternoon.

The school cook, Julie, who already cooks for two schools within the Exe Valley Federation, prepared a delicious roast gammon lunch, followed by cake and fruit salad, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

The children also performed the harvest songs they’ve been practising for the festival, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Headteacher Claire Theedom said: “From our youngest pupil (two) to our oldest guest (99 soon) it was lovely to see everyone enjoying each other’s company, a delicious lunch, and music and song.”
