RESIDENTS of Westernlea in Crediton have lit up their road with spectacular Christmas lights displays for the fifth year running.

The new tradition was started in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic by Mike and Jacqui Langhorne.

The winner this year, as judged by two Crediton Hamlets parish councillors, was Louise Shaw of number 26.

In second place was Denise Stoneman of number 28, and Jim Pearn of number 14 came third.

Joint runners-up were June Woolacott of number 33 and Jade Blackler of number 35.

“What a wonderful display this year and very hard to judge,” said Cllr Andy Cole.
“We would also like to say a very big thank-you to Mike Langhorne for all his contribution towards this event. It is getting bigger and better each year.”
