THERE is some good news for motorists using the A377.

EMERGENCY road repairs and resurfacing works were today, Wednesday, June 24, completed following the tractor and trailer fire which occurred just after 1pm on Saturday, June 20, which badly damaged the road surface.

The road was closed between Bugford Cross turning to Morchard Bishop and Kelland Hill, Lapford, immediately after the fire and has been closed since that time.

Two fire engines, from Witheridge and Danes Castle, Exeter and a water carrier attended.

A telehandler was 100 per cent destroyed by fire, as well as approximately five metres of adjacent hedgerow.

The trailer that was attached to the telehandler, as well as a nearby phone line also suffered heat damage.
