LOCALLY-based “Beatles” Cover band, “The Beatnxs” are looking forward to playing the closing event for CredFest 2017.
They will be playing in the Town Square at 9pm on Saturday, June 24, after the Talent Show.
The Beatnxs were formed by John and Paul, John Downes and Paul Connelly, more than 20 years ago and have a long history of preforming the “Beatles” classics, with many successes including launching “Beatles Week” in Cambridge and performing at the famous Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
Paul said: “It will be great to be playing back in Crediton again after the great reception we got earlier in the year at The Red Lion in Shobrooke and it’s a terrific privilege to be asked to play the finale event.”
John and Paul pride themselves in trying to get the enthusiasm of the music across and plan to play their “Singles Set”.
John Downes said: “We were asked if we could do something with a broad range of appeal, and what better than the ‘Beatles’.
“We plan to start at the beginning with such classics as ‘She Loves You’ and ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ and work our way through the catalogue up to ‘Back In The USSR’ and ‘Get Back’ with a few surprises in between.”
“The Beatnxs” feature Martin Cartwright on guitar and Franco DeTisi on drums who is standing in for regular drummer Leslie Hampston who sadly cannot make the gig.
“The plan is”, said Martin, “to turn up, play some great songs and for everyone, young and old to have a great time, or should I say a FAB time!”
