FOR the third year running, we were delighted to welcome the Ernest Jackson Community Team on Friday, May 23 to Sandford Millennium Green.

Thirty-six of them have helped us to reinstate the path down to the events area and repair some the other paths.

They also cut back lots of growth around the lay-by and entrances, the trail posts, benches, bridges and tree trunks.

One group even walked the path to the Crediton end to trim back vegetation along the edge of the path through the wood.

They worked incredibly hard, with such good humour and enthusiasm. It was a pleasure to work with them. The sun shone on them continually, which always makes the day more enjoyable.

So, with their help, we are gradually preparing the ground for our big event this year - our 25th anniversary big picnic.

This will be on Saturday, June 21. More details will follow in the near future.
