IF there is one word that sums up our rehearsals for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, it is energy.
From the very first read-through, it was clear that this production was going to be a joyful, colourful challenge for our amateur dramatic society - and one we have embraced wholeheartedly.

Rehearsals have been filled with music echoing down the hall, choreography taking shape, and a cast that ranges from seasoned performers to first-time members finding their confidence.
Joseph is a show that demands enthusiasm, flexibility, and teamwork, and it has been wonderful to watch the group grow into those demands.
One of the real pleasures of directing this production has been working with such a committed ensemble.
The narrators have been refining their storytelling, the brothers are relishing their character work, and our Joseph has brought warmth and sincerity to the role from the outset.
Add a chorus full of movement and personality, and rehearsals are rarely quiet or dull.

As with any production, there have been challenges. Fitting busy lives around rehearsal schedules, mastering quick costume changes, and keeping up with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s fast-paced score has kept us on our toes.
Atmosphere in the rehearsal room remains supportive and positive, with plenty of laughter alongside the hard work.
Behind the scenes, our creative team has been just as busy. Sets are being built, costumes prepared, and the iconic Technicolor Dreamcoat is beginning to take its final form - an exciting moment that truly makes the show feel real.

I am incredibly proud of this cast and crew. If rehearsals are anything to go by, audiences are in for a vibrant, uplifting, and thoroughly entertaining evening.
Performance dates are April 14 to 18, including a Saturday matinee at QE Lower School (Barnfield Site).
