ZEAL Monachorum Village Hall’s Vegetable, Flower and Homecraft Show will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday, August 30.

It has a long tradition of exhibiting people’s skills which is as relevant today as it was in the past.

This year the exceptional weather may be a challenge for those growing, as plants which normally are ready at this time may be finished, however, other items which are usually at their peak too late may save the day.

The Schedule for the Show, which can be found at the Village Hall’s new website: http://zmvh.uk/ , has some flexibility to accommodate that with classes such as “any other vegetable” and “any other fruit”.

Erica Eden, Chair of the Village Hall, said: “We really want to encourage everyone to be able to have the fun of entering and trying to win, which is why all the classes are open to children though they will be judged separately to the adults.

“It’s also not just for the gardeners, there are classes for cookery, handicrafts, photography, drawing and painting etc.

“I have noticed that many people find that the Show provides good opportunities to post their entries on social media.

“It’s worth supporting the hall and coming to see the amazing displays, enjoying the refreshments and bidding in the auction of produce from some of the generous entrants.”

Entries must be at the Hall between 10am and 12 noon (there is no charge for exhibiting) and it’s open to the public at 2.30pm.

Admission for adults is £1, children free.

There will be refreshments available and the prize giving at 3pm.
