THE Bookery is pleased to announce the return of its much‑loved weekly storytelling sessions with a seasonal refresh.

For early summer, Soup & Stories becomes Sandwiches & Stories—a relaxed Friday gathering offering good company, shared stories, and free freshly made sandwiches.

Running every Friday from May 22 to July 10, 12.30pm–2pm, Sandwiches & Stories provides a welcoming mid‑day pause at the end of the week. The space will be arranged to encourage conversation, with a light, summery feel that reflects the change of season and invites people to linger, listen, and connect.

Each session offers a fresh medley of themes—Journeys, Beginnings, Surprises, Celebrations, Other Worlds, and Change—with short stories, poems, readings, and conversation gently curated by The Bookery’s volunteer hosts. You don’t need to prepare anything or contribute; simply come as you are and enjoy the experience.

Free sandwiches will be generously provided by The Turning Tides Project, whose ongoing partnership helps ensure the sessions remain open and accessible to all.

Sandwiches & Stories is free of charge, open to everyone, and no booking is required. The Bookery offers wheelchair access and an accessible toilet.
