STAFF from Upstream are working with the charity Artswave and local retired farmers at Landscore Primary School, Crediton on an exciting intergenerational project.

The Calf Project, started on Tuesday, November 10 and will run until Tuesday, November 17, focusing on Crediton’s farming history.

Retired local farmers are working with Landscore pupils to create a mosaic sculpture of a calf to represent the Devon Red Ruby cattle, which were sold at the April Great Market in Crediton High Street, until the late 50s.

The farmers will be sharing their experience with children to reflect upon how farming has changed.

When finished, the mosaic calf will form part of a sculpture trail in Crediton.
