THE KS2 classes at Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School impressed sell-out audiences at their recent production of Ye-Ha!, a lively Wild West musical following the adventures of Wilbur Hubbard, a timid cook who unexpectedly becomes sheriff and, with the help of the brave Billie-Jo Brisket, sets out to save Splodge City from the troublesome outlaw Mad Dog McNut and his gang.

Claire Theedom, Head of School, said: “The children worked incredibly hard both on and off the stage, creating all of their own scenery and props during after-school Production Club sessions.

“Year 3 and 4 pupils formed the choral ensemble, delivering enthusiastic singing and energetic dance routines, while Year 5 and 6 pupils confidently took on the lead acting roles as well as solos.

“Their confidence, teamwork and stage presence shone throughout the performances, bringing the story to life with humour, creativity and enthusiasm.

“The production was a tremendous success and thoroughly enjoyed by families, staff and members of the local community, showcasing the talent, dedication and imagination of the pupils.”
