HAYWARD’S Primary School is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of only two schools in the South West to have pupils’ work showcased in the National Gallery as part of the Take One Picture Project run by the National Gallery.

This exceptional achievement highlights the creativity and artistic talent of the children, who worked collaboratively to produce artwork inspired by “A Regatta on the Grand Canal” by Canaletto.

To celebrate this accomplishment, the school were able to arrange to take a small group of children to London for a day. The visit included:

• A visit to the National Gallery to view their own work in the exhibition

• An opportunity to explore the British Museum

• A sightseeing walk, offering pupils the opportunity to experience London and see some of its famous landmarks.

This trip represents a rare and inspiring opportunity for the children to see their creativity recognised on a national stage.

The school would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the organisations and individuals whose generosity made this trip possible.

It is extremely grateful for the financial contributions of local businesses and national companies working locally who have chosen to support the school in providing such a memorable experience: Crediton Milling Company, Crediton Dairy, The Exeter, Bellway South West, Crediton & District Lions Club and Supportive individuals from our community.

Thanks also goes to Great Western Railway and Tesco for the support they have given in helping to organise the train tickets and healthy snacks for the trip.

Teacher Becky Phillips, said: “We also wish to acknowledge the invaluable assistance of our local MP, Sir Mel Stride, whose support has helped ensure that the children - many of whom may not otherwise have the chance to visit the exhibition in London - can take part in this unforgettable experience.

“This achievement reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and providing enriching cultural experiences for all pupils.

“Having artwork displayed in the National Gallery is a milestone that the children, their families, and the school community will cherish for years to come.

“More information about the project and exhibition can be found on the National Gallery website, whose promotional material features the artwork created by children at Hayward’s.”
