A BAKE Sale in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity was held at Dolphin Stairlifts and Mobility Solutions at 22 Marsh Lane, Lords Meadow Industrial Estate, Crediton on Tuesday, July 14.

There were dozens of varieties of cakes on sale and many made purchases to take home or back to their offices.

Many enjoyed a cuppa, slice of cake and a chat while they were there.

A raffle with a wonderful array of prizes was held.

A spokesperson for Dolphin Stairlifts said: “What a fantastic turnout for our cake bake sale in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity, the money will help fund vital services and support programmes!

“Thanks to the amazing generosity of our staff, visitors, bakers, cake buyers and raffle supporters, Dolphin Stairlifts South West raised over £877 for this wonderful local charity.

“A huge thank you to everyone who baked, bought, donated, attended or helped on the day — your support made the event a brilliant success.”

FORCE is an independent, local charity that receives no NHS or Government funding.

It supports thousands of local people dealing with a cancer diagnosis – patients and their families – every year and is only able to do so due to the generosity of the communities it serves.

It offers counselling, group sessions, complementary therapies, benefits advice, specialist physiotherapy and exercise guidance, a pre-loved wig service and other health and wellbeing support.

The FORCE Cancer Support and Information Centre is on the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital’s Wonford site. It’s open Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays, between 9am and 4.30pm.

It works at the Ottery St Mary Hospital cancer hub, where its volunteers support FORCE’s team of experts and the nurses delivering chemotherapy daily.

It also provides support by appointment at Tiverton Hospital (Mondays), Okehampton Hospital (Wednesdays) and Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health (Wednesdays).
