EMERGENCY services are currently dealing with a road traffic accident involving two vehicles in Crediton.

Two fire crews, one from Crediton and another from Exeter, plus two ambulances are currently on the scene at Forches Cross, at the top of Jockey Hill, Crediton.

It is believed that two cars, a Peugeot and Citroen are involved.

Emergency services began to arrive at the scene at about 6.30pm and a second ambulance at about 7pm today, Monday, July 20.

Ambulance personnel are believed to be treating a person or persons in one of the ambulances.

Firefighters have made the vehicles safe and are currently controlling traffic, one vehicle able to pass the scene at a time.

Stonewall Lane is closed because of the accident.

It is not known if anyone is seriously hurt.
