ON Friday, July 17, Wendy Anez was given a wonderful thank you and farewell by a group of volunteers she worked closely with at the Crediton Food Bank for two-and-half years.

The lunch was held at the Baobab café on the Town Square and the food was wonderful as always.

Wendy was presented with a garden gift voucher and a card signed with loving messages by those who she called her 'dream team'.

The volunteers present were those who worked closely with Wendy either hosting the Food Bank cafe on a Friday morning or unpacking donations and making up food parcels for clients on a Monday.

Wendy loved her job at the Food Bank but felt it was time to move on to pastures new.

She said she will miss the job, especially getting to know the clients and the wonderful volunteers and added that she is grateful to the trustees for the job, which she will miss hugely.

Wendy added: "Please use the Food Bank if you need it. Don't hold back, be shy or feel you can't ask.

“It's there for those who are struggling to make ends meet and just need a bit of help to see them through at the moment - and possibly get signposted to other support that is available to them without them even realising it".

• During 2025, the Foodbank provided more than 2,000 food parcels to people living in Crediton and the surrounding area.
