A TRIP to a Crediton pub for an evening meal on Friday, March 23, will cost a Crediton man much more than his supper.
John Pike had parked his Toyota Avensis outside the General Sir Redvers Buller on Crediton High Street. He heard a car alarm sounding, but took little notice.
"When I came out of the Buller at about 7.30pm I found it was my car’s alarm because someone had smashed into the back of it," he said.
The damage means a new offside rear light unit because this was smashed and pushed in a bit as well as a whole new bumper which was split and pushed out at the side.
"The other driver must have realised what happened, their vehicle must be damaged. I wonder if either that person or anyone who might have seen anything could contact me on 01363 773728," said John.
John was parked on the Buller side of the road facing towards St Saviour’s Way, arriving at about 7pm and leaving around 7.30pm.
He says if the other driver has to claim off their insurance policy for the damage to their car, they might as well make it one claim to include John’s car which could, otherwise, be written off by his insurers. The damage was more than it looked.
