THERE was a large and very appreciative audience for the Christmas Concert of North Creedy Choral Society which was held in the Church of the Holy Cross, Crediton.

In the first half of the programme the choir sang excerpts from Handel’s Messiah with three fine soloists – Stellar Ahler (Soprano), Patricia Robottom (Contralto) and Jason Bomford (Tenor).

The Choral Society was conducted by their Musical Director, Richard Stephens. They were accompanied on the organ by Shaun Brown and on violins by Anna Cockcroft and Sandra Sutton.

Rehearsal Accompanist was Susan Gales who also played the Continuo.

After the interval the audience joined in singing some well-known carols and these were interspersed with Christmas readings, read by members of the choir.

The concert came to a rousing conclusion when everyone rose to their feet to sing the Halllelujah Chorus.
