CREDITON Community Bookshop and Crediton Library will host a talk and discussion by award-winning journalist, Donald Macintyre on Saturday June 1, from 12 noon to 1pm at Crediton Library.

Donald, who is also an author, will present on his recent publication “Gaza preparing for Dawn”.

He was “Independent” newspaper’s Jerusalem bureau chief from 2004-2012 and is an expert on the politics and history of the middle east.

He is a former presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Week in Westminster, author of numerous articles and short-listed for the Orwell Prize in Journalism.

In 2011 he was awarded the Next Century Foundation’s Peace award.

He has an in-depth knowledge of the history, politics and social situation of the people of Gaza having visited on many occasions.

Jon Snow reviewed his publication as: “A brilliant and incisive account” and Jeremy Bowen, BBC Middle East editor stated that “Donald skillfully picks his way through the tangle of accusations that surround the Gaza tragedy”.

Donald will also be speaking at Stockleigh Pomeroy Village Hall from 7pm on Saturday, June 1.
