POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an arson attack was reported in the Market Street and High Street area of the town.

The incident, in which two wheelie bins were set alight, happened between 1.55am and 2.05am on Wednesday, July 17.

One of the wheelie bins was in the alleyway behind The Ship Hotel and set alight by unknown means.

The other bin was also tampered with but was dealt with before the fire took hold.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service crews from Crediton attended and put out fires in the bins.
