ANYONE wanting something to do is invited to pop along to Crediton Museum to see this year’s new exhibition “The Crediton Area History in 21 objects.”

The exhibition is appealing to both adults and children alike and families are welcome.

The exhibition includes many fascinating items including flints and a Quern stone, used to grind flour, lent by the RAMM in Exeter.

There is a model of an owl, linked to Goddess Minerva, details of the 739 Charter, the Crediton Hoard, the Musical Stone and so much more.

In addition the Museum has a life size ruler so people can see if they are taller than Nelson Mandela, Queen Victoria or for the children Paddington or Peppa Pig and lots of other well known people!

There are also feely boxes to guess what items are, an interactive House back in time, showing the history of the shop Once Read in Crediton.

For the children in addition to everything else there is a treasure hunt finding items, colouring in and an owl hunt to see how many they can find.

Entry is free although donations are welcome as the Museum is a charitable organisation.

It is open from Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and on Saturday’s from 11am to 2pm until the end of October.

A review from last year’s exhibition from a happy mum… “Crediton museum have two free activity trails (find the objects and find the farm animals) on over the summer holidays which our boys really enjoyed today!

“The volunteers were so lovely and spent a lot of time explaining the different exhibits, playing them historical sounds and showing them different local historical footage. Both happily came away with badges and colouring - definitely worth considering if you need to do something with the kids.”
