THE 772nd Chulmleigh Old Fair, which ran from Tuesday, July 28 to Saturday, August 1, was, as usual, a resounding success.

The Fair began with a Family Church Service followed by the grand opening and raising of the white glove by Nick Withers, entertainment in Fore Street and the crowning of the Fair Queen, Rosie Lucas Ridge, by Claire Withers, followed by the traditional Money Scamble.

The week included a craft market, flower festival, sheep show, vintage vehicle rally, country fair, pavement artists competition, flower and produce show, dog show, sports, motor scavenge, fancy dress, exhibitions, road race, family fun and much more.

The Fair was granted permission by King Henry III in 1253 and has taken place every year since.
