A CREDITON man who is doing two long-distance bike rides for charity next month had his bike stolen when his works van was broken into on Thursday, May 16.

Alistair Kidd, a ground worker, will be taking part in the 54-mile London-Brighton ride for the British Heart Foundation, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and then the 100-mile Nello for FORCE.

As well as his bike, his chainsaw and a breaker were stolen. His van was parked outside his home on Park Street.

The theft has been reported to the police and anyone who might have information is asked to please contact the police.

Alistair is riding with Kevin Mears of K J M Services, Crediton and his 14-years-old son William in both and they are joined by friends for the London-Brighton.

Alistair is borrowing a bike to complete his challenges and fundraising.
