A WARMING winter evening of murder, mystery and mischief can be had in Crediton as bestselling crime author Tom Hindle visits The Bookery to discuss his latest novel, A Killer in Paradise - a whodunnit set in the lush Costa Rican rainforest.
Tom will be joined in conversation from 7pm on Thursday, January 22, by Orlando Murrin, friend of The Bookery and fellow crime writer.
A Killer in Paradise is a deliciously twisty tale of old friends, buried secrets, and a trip of their dreams for a luxury hotel launch that ends in murder.
When five old friends are invited to join Abigail Blythe at the launch of her luxury hotel in the Costa Rican rainforest, they jump at the chance to spend a week in paradise.
None of them have heard from Abigail since the summer they went backpacking in Central America as students – a trip that ended in disaster for one member of the group.
Ten years may have passed, but old rivalries are never far from the surface. So when a body is discovered during the hotel’s launch event, it soon becomes clear that one among them must be responsible. Someone is desperate to keep an old secret hidden – whatever the cost.
Tom Hindle, hailed as the “heir to Christie” by the Daily Mail, is the author of several Sunday Times bestselling novels including A Fatal Crossing, The Murder Game, and Murder on Lake Garda. His writing is inspired by the greats of the genre, including Agatha Christie and Anthony Horowitz.
Orlando Murrin’s debut, Knife Skills for Beginners, was shortlisted for the McDermid Debut Prize, and his most recent novel, Murder Below Deck, was a great success when Orlando visited The Bookery in April.
Books by both authors will be available to buy and sign at the end of the evening.
Tickets, £6, are available from The Bookery or via: www.thebookery.org.uk
