CREDITON Lions were in the Town Square promoting the Lions International Foundation (LCIF) on Friday, June 19.

This Lions Charity was started 50 years ago and since then has been active in responding to humanitarian need wherever and whenever it has been needed.

It has a number of major objectives including relief of hunger, protection from loss of vision, prevention of diabetes and childhood cancer and the protection of the environment.

During the pandemic it has supported donation to Age Concern Crediton and in the recent past the floods in Somerset and many other causes and community need.

Lions were on hand to tell the story of Lions both in Crediton and Internationally.

Alongside the Lions was Carole Thomas, from Bow, attending her first Lions event and President Peter Bryan took the opportunity of presenting Carole with her membership Badge and welcomed her into the Lions worldwide family.

Lion President Peter Bryan said: “There’s a world in need and Crediton’s caring Lions are ready to change it.

“Carole is a valuable asset in our goal to deliver more support and service to Crediton and beyond.”

Carole said: “I am looking forward to the future and my involvement with such an active group.”

The Summer Cow Pat challenge prize draw tickets were on sale at the event and will continue be on sale during the summer with the Cow pat drop planned for Saturday, September 18.
