CREDITON Lions report that they were able to collect a fantastic amount at the Crediton Tesco store at Wellparks for the “Sending Love to Ukraine” Appeal on Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20.

Lion Peter Bryan explained that it is estimated that more than £1,000 worth of goods were donated by customers to the Tesco store to be sent to Ukraine in October by Cornwall and Devon “Sending Love to Ukraine”.

He said: “John and Charlotte brought the van up from Callington which was filled with much needed items from the list provided.

“Crediton Lions provided cover for the two days from 10am until 4pm to receive the goods that customers donated.

“In addition cash was donated which will be used to fund significant major purchases.”

Ann Whitehouse, President of Crediton Lions, thanked Ben, Tesco community champion for all his support and all the Tesco customers who supported Crediton Lions Clubs.

She added: “If readers still have items they might like to donate please call Crediton Lions Club and arrangements will be made to add items to the next convoy leaving in October for delivery to Ukraine.”

The most needed items are Nappies of all sizes, Baby Formula and baby food, Premature and New born baby clothes, Male or Female personal hygiene products, Female sanitary products, Incontinence pads, First aid supplies including trauma kits, burn kits, paramedic bags, first aid rucksacks, Sleeping bags and thermal blankets, Cold and flu medication, Paracetamol and any over the counter medications.

If you have none of the above then cash support is invaluable and will help towards the purchase of aid and a washing machine and dryer for an orphanage.
