CREDITON Lions President Peter Bryan welcomed 42 guests at the 42nd Annual Charter evening held at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Saturday, February 15.

Peter welcomed Lion District Governor Jim Partridge-Hogbin and his wife Rosemary from Seaton.

Other Lions attending were from Okehampton, Exeter, Exeter West and Honiton as well as from Crediton and District Lions Club.

During his address Lion Peter paid tribute to both the members of the Crediton Club as well as the volunteers from the Crediton Talking News for all their hard work and dedication over the past 12 months.

The Talking Newspaper service is shortly to celebrate five years in production of its weekly service since commencement.

During the five years, it has only missed being produced once. This was due to the Beast of the East snow storm.

Lion Peter went on to highlight the various activities during the year which enabled the club to fund a large number of worthy causes within the Crediton area as well as international appeals such as the recent fires in Australia.

He made mention of the club’s Health and Well-being Fair, highlighting the fight against diabetes.

Peter also thanked the community of Crediton and District for its wonderful support and generosity during the past 42 years.

Although the weather was quite appalling, this did not detract from a thoroughly enjoyable Charter Night.
