CODS will present "Bums On Seats" by Michael Snelgrove from Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29 at Queen Elizabeth’s Lower School (Barnfield) site in Crediton.
Regular patrons of CODS should please note the change of venue for the October production, due to ongoing building works at the Upper School site.
Tickets are priced at £11 for adults and £9 for concessions and can be obtained either by going to the online box office at: www.codsonline.com , by emailing Mike Canning on: [email protected] or by visiting Olivia James Design, 27 High Street, Crediton.
CODS is delighted that the performances will be sponsored by Lewis’s of Crediton.
In a tatty provincial theatre, a new play, “Fecund” is being staged. Michael Snelgrove’s uproarious adult comedy "Bums On Seats" introduces us to everyone involved in the production: in a series of hilarious scenes, linked by a chorus of usherettes, we meet the stage manager (with a blinding hangover), the leading actors (ranging from the pretentious through to the bitter to the plain incompetent), the new Marketing Assistant (who used to work for British Rail), the lecherous, unscrupulous author, and others.
In the second act, set in the auditorium, attention focuses on the audience, an equally mixed and un-harmonious group. Chaos breaks out ultimately, just as Aaron Zoffany the Third, the theatre’s major sponsor, arrives for a visit.
The play does contain occasional strong language.
Many thanks go to those who entered the quiz to name the shows that songs were taken from at CODS recent concerts. The winner of the two tickets for "Bums On Seats" will be announced in next week’s issue of the “Courier" along with all the answers.
In the meantime please get in touch and book your tickets for this very funny play.
Mike Canning
