DESPITE Mid Devon District Council leaving their offices several months ago, Mid Devon Citizens Advice continues to offer their service from the Council Offices in Market Street, Crediton.
The charity is still very much in the centre of the community providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to people on their rights and responsibilities in relation to benefits, housing, debt, employment and many other areas of concern.
Last year the volunteers at Crediton donated 2,232 hours of their time to help more than 700 people in the town and surrounding areas.
These clients sought help with more than 1,200 individual issues and each one received free support.
The most common issues brought to the charity were benefits and Tax Credits along with debt which totalled more than half of all enquiries.
The Crediton office also helped to bring in more than £111,000 into the local economy by maximising clients income in the form of support to which they did not know they were entitled.
For advice and information, why not pop in and see the friendly and professional volunteers in the Crediton office?
It is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 3pm.
Alternatively you can call the CAB Devon Adviceline telephone service on 03444 111 444 (Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm).
• Crediton Town Council still operates from the Council Offices and has re-located its offices downstairs. Crediton and District Community Transport Association operates from upstairs at the Council Offices.
