Now in their fifth year, the car boot sales have proved very popular for sellers and buyers alike. Andrew explains: “For all of the previous years that we have held the car boot sales, the proceeds have supported our charity partners of the time.
“I am pleased to say that for all of the car boot sales for this year and into the foreseeable future, the proceeds will be held at the store to help fund community projects and events within Crediton and the surrounding areas.
“There will be a slight change of emphasis in my community work this year that the funds from the car boot sales will help enormously with. I want to look at bigger events, whether that be organised by Crediton Tesco or in partnership with other local organisations.
“We will still look to provide donations etc wherever we can but with the funds raised by the car boot sales we will have more flexibility around what we can do.
“I’m very excited by the new emphasis and already have plans for the year which I cannot wait to tell people about and put into action.”
As well as private sellers, the car boot sales provide an easy opportunity for local charities, groups and organisations to both make the attending buyers aware of their cause, but also to do some fundraising at the same time.
Andrew continued: “For a few hours on a Sunday morning the opportunity is there for any group to raise some money. We have had many charities and groups in the past and they’ve always done pretty well.”
The format for the sales remains the same, however, spaces are limited so bookings are still requested to be made in advance.
Bookings for the car boot sales start 10 days before the event and spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please do not try and book before the dates given.
This year there is a new contact number for bookings – 07718 533 069. Simply leave a message with your surname and a contact number and Andrew will call you back to confirm your space.

“I hope that they continue to be as successful as they have been in the past and that we have loads of sellers to take advantage of the many many buyers that always come down.”
