Thursday, August 4 - four rinks v Heavitree (away) A Milford won 25-15 A Reed lost 13-15, T Chamberlain lost 7-21 and T Newbery lost 18-21 – Crediton lost by 63-72 shots – points; League 2-12 – County Trophy 0-2.

Thursday, August 11 – four rinks v Exonia 'B' (away) (L) Crediton ended their league programme with a two shot defeat away to Exonia 'B' – L Parker lost 15-32, A Reed won 34-9, A Milford lost 14-22 and T Chamberlain lost 17-19 – Crediton lost by 80-82 shots – points 2-12.

MEN'S OVER 60's LEAGUE

Wednesday, August 3 – two triples 'A' v Madeira 'A' (home) every little helps – but will the seven points taken from high flying Madeira 'A' be enough to help save Crediton 'A' team from relegation – L Parker drew 16-16 and G Newbery won 21-17 – Crediton won by 37-33 shots – points 7-1.

Two triples 'B' v Axminster (home) P Evans won 22-12 and A Hopper won 18-15. Crediton won by 40-27 shots – points 8-0.

Two triples 'C' v Culm Vale 'B' (away) S Wollacott lost 19-21 & G Stevens won 22-19 – Crediton won 41-40 shots – points 6-2.

Wednesday, August 11 – two triples 'A' v Heavitree 'C' (home) L Parker won 21-16 & J Theedom lost 14-24 – Crediton lost by 35-40 shots – points 2-6.

Two triples 'B' v Honiton 'A' (home) P Page lost 18-21 & P Evans won 16-8 – Crediton won by 34-29 shots – points 6-2.

Two triples 'C' v Chagford (away) G Stevens won 24-17 and M Haywood won 28-10 – Crediton won by 52-27 shots – points 8-0.

FOXLAND TROPHY

Friday, August 5 – two men's rinks v Shaldon – Crediton lost in the quarter final of the 'Foxland' to Shaldon who are one of the strongest men's bowling teams in Devon – the game was played on a one rink home and one rink away bases – I Bond (h) lost 15-19 and S Stevens (a) lost 11-29 – Crediton lost by 26-48 shots.

MEN'S CLUB PAIRS FINAL

Sunday, August 14 – Terry Chamberlain & Shane Boddy have won the men's Club Pairs – they defeated Trevor Newbery and Phillip Milford by 21-16 shots in an excellent final.

BOWLS DEVON

Sunday, August 7 – Peter Martin, Terry Chamberlain, Andrew Milford and Shane Boddy were members of a Bowls Devon team that lost to Dorset in a South West League game – the match was played at Bridport Bowling Club.

Sunday, August 8 – Larry Parker and John Abbott were members of the Area Section Four team that lost to Area Section Seven (Plymouth) in the semi-final of the Coronation Cup by 96-127 shots – their rink drew 19-19. The game was played at the Barnstaple Bowls Club.

ST. THOMAS ANNIVERSARY

Saturday, August 6 – George and Trevor Newbery, Maggie Chaplin and Christine Rainford played as an invited Crediton rink in a game to celebrate the 90th anniversary of St. Thomas, Exeter.

LADIES' OVER 50's LEAGUE

Wednesday, August 5 – two ladies' triples – 'B' v St. Thomas (away) C Theedom lost 12-19 and M Chaplin lost 11-28 – Crediton lost by 23-47 shots – points 0-6.

Two ladies' triples – 'A' v Budleigh Salterton (away) M Grant won 32-9 and J Martin won 15-12 – Crediton won by 47-21 shots – points 6-0.

Wednesday, August 10 – two ladies' triples – 'B' v Bitton Park (away) C Theedom lost 13-21 and M Chaplin lost 17-20 – Crediton lost by 30-41 shots – points 0-6.

Two ladies' triples – 'A' v Pinces Gardens (away) J Martin lost 17-20 and M Grant won 19-15 – Crediton won by 36-35 shots – points 4-2.

Thursday, August 11 – two ladies' triples – 'A' v Shaldon (away) M Grant drew 19-19 & C Bishop won 21-9 – Crediton won by 40-28 shots – points 5-1.

LADIES' NON-BADGED

TRIPLES LEAGUE

Monday August 1 – two ladies' triples v Exonia (away) J Penberthy lost 14-19 and C Marshall won 31-12. Crediton won by 45-31 shots – points – 4-2.

Thursday August 4 – two ladies' triples v Ottery St. Mary (away) Due to injury this match ended after 10 ends of bowls – with the match points shared – J Penberthy 10-10 and D Bright 11-10 – points 3-3.

Tuesday, August 9 – two ladies' triples v Heavitree (away) J Penberthy won 31-1 and C Marshall won 20-10 – Crediton won by 51-11 shots – points 6-0.

BOWLS ENGLAND

Congratulations to Crediton based bowler Muriel Scott on reaching the finals of Bowls England Championships – where she lost by 12-15 shots in the final of the two woods singles to Ellen Falkner

Saturday, August 6 - six mixed rinks v United Services (away) C Bishop lost 17-26, J Theedom won 16-15, J Abbott lost 11-17, P Martin lost 13-17, J Martin won 24-15 and A Milford won 25-20 – Crediton lost by 106-110 shots.

Monday, August 8 – four ladies' triples v Sidmouth (home) P Clark won 20-13, J Martin won 19-10, C Bishop won 24-8 and M Grant won 22-7 – Crediton won by 85-38 shots

Tuesday, August 9 – four mixed triples v Chagford (away) K Luxton lost 12-18, C Fribbens won 20-9, J Martin lost 7-16 and S Wollacott won 25-12 - Crediton won by 64-55 shots.

Saturday, August 13 – four mixed triples v Bradninch (away) G Newbery lost 17-20, S Wollacott lost 11-16, C Bishop won 20-14 and M Grant won 27-14 – Crediton won by 75-64 shots.

Sunday, August 14 – six mixed rinks v Tiverton Bowling Club (away) J Martin lost 16-19 T Newbery won 18-15, A Milford won 29-12, J Theedom won 23-12, S Wollacott won 22-4 and P Martin won 19-15 – Crediton won by 129-77 shots.
