DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist with a “danger to life” incident in Crediton High Street during the afternoon of Friday, July 3.
Near The Creedy Centre at 117 High Street, there was a danger of a pole at rooftop height falling onto the High Street or pedestrians walking on the pavement in the area.
A Crediton fire crew and the DSFRS aerial ladder from Exeter attended the incident and the crew with the aerial ladder was able to safely retrieve the pole.
A one-way traffic system was managed by firefighters during the operation.
