CHERITON Fitzpaine residents David and Mary Nunn recently attended the annual Order of St John re-dedication ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral in London.
They both represent and fundraise for the St John Eye Hospitals, which provide expert eye care in Jerusalem and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Despite all the recent turmoil, the Gaza hospital has been able to re-open, and provide care for any patients who can get there.
A new hospital has just been opened in Nablus, one of Palestine's oldest cities.
St John Ambulance cadets representing each county or region in the British Isles were at the service, and offered to take a photo of David and Mary with them.
