THE maintenance team from The Turning Tides Project in Crediton which cleans up so much of the town is now using a cleaning cart to make life easier, thanks to Crediton Town Council.
The Town Council purchased the cart and The Turning Tides Project says that it makes the team’s job more accessible, and efficient, as it means it can load the cart with equipment and team members no longer need to carry heavy bags of rubbish, glass and weeds.
The team is pleased that a lot of members of the public have stopped and said that they were very pleased to see people making the high street look better.
One of the team, Jamie said: "I really liked having people tell us we were doing a good job - it's great to feel appreciated. I think we made a difference today."
The maintenance team is an inclusive group of Supported Employees and people who are working towards Supported Employment.
The Turning Tides Project's aim is to work towards equal access to music, arts, and life for people with “Learning Disability” and “Autism” labels.
It aims to create opportunities that benefit our local community, demonstrate the value of inclusivity, and take a social model approach.
