FIRE crews from Crediton, Witheridge and the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor, Exeter were sent to a report of a road accident involving a petrol tanker and a car.

The Fire Service received a call from the Ambulance Service reporting the accident just before noon on Tuesday, May 19, near Priorton Barton, East Village, near Crediton.

On arrival the fire crews confirmed that all persons were free and clear of the vehicles and there were no leaks from the tanker.

Fire crews made the vehicles safe using one hose reel jet and small tools and stood by whilst a recovery vehicle removed the tanker from the scene.

Police and Ambulance also attended this incident.

The driver of the car is helping the police with their inquiries.
