A COUPLE from the Maidstone area of Kent were involved in a road traffic collision in Market Street, Crediton, at about 3pm this afternoon, Tuesday, September 19.

The grey-coloured 2017-registration VW Golf in which they were travelling came to rest on the pavement wedged between the doorway of Veitch Penny Solicitors at 2 Market Street and alongside a black Mercedes car.

The impact resulted in damage to both vehicles and the doorway of the solicitors office and a car in front of the Mercedes was shunted.

The couple in the car sustained shock and were cared for at the neighbouring office of Stapletons Accountants at 4 Market Street.

Police attended the incident.

The car was able to be reversed out of the the doorway.

No-one was seriously injured.
