GORGEOUS cat Pebbles was left with one eye after being hit by a boot – and now she needs a loving home.

The young cat was taken to the Blue Cross Victoria Animal Hospital in central London when someone threw a boot at her, leaving one eye swollen and red and causing the other to close completely. The heavy blow left her wobbly and disorientated.

Amanda Marrington, Animal Welfare Officer, said: “Sadly there was nothing we could do to save her ruptured right eye and the best thing for Pebbles was for us to remove it.

"Just a few weeks before Pebbles was struck, she had given birth to four cheeky kittens. "She was still weaning them when she needed the emergency eye operation, and we didn’t want to keep the new mum away from her kittens for any longer than absolutely necessary.

"Pebbles’ owner had found that caring for a cat and four kittens was too much, and agreed to sign the whole family over into our care so we could look for new homes for them all.

"Once Pebbles was well enough, we transferred the feline family to the Blue Cross Rehoming Centre at Chiltern Cross near Bickleigh.

"The kittens have found new homes, but Pebbles is still waiting for her perfect pad to come along.

At just over a year old, Pebbles is still a baby herself. Because she has lost an eye, she is looking for a quiet home where she will feel safe and secure.
