TWO Britain in Bloom judges, Graham Price from Kingsbridge and Steve Clampin from North Somerset, were in Crediton during the afternoon of Tuesday, July 18.

They met in the Crediton Tesco store car park with Mike Szabo, Town Councillor and Chairman of the Floral Crediton Committee, Crediton Town Clerk, Mrs Clare Dalley and Andrew Drayton, the Crediton store’s community champion.

After visiting the recycling centre in the car park, the judges then visited a number of locations in the town including Crediton Railway Station, where they met GWR staff.

They then went to Holy Cross Church, where they met Bill Jerman and walked to see the floral displays in Charlotte Street/East Street.

They then went to Crediton Town and Hamlets War Memorial and walked into Newcombes Meadow, where they met with Mid Devon District Council parks staff.

Next was a walk along Union Road to view the floral displays and to the Town Square to view the flower towers and meet Bert Jewell.

After that was a drive to QE School in Western Road and a walk to St Lawrence Green to view the displays there.

Fingers are crossed that the judges enjoyed their visit and will vote favourably about the town displays.
