CREDITON demonstrated its support for Armed Forces Day, on Saturday, June 30, when the nation showed its support for the military both serving and retired, at home and abroad.

Town and district councils have been showing support for the day by the raising of flags.

Outside the Crediton council offices in Market Street, a flag was raised courtesy of Crediton Town Council and Mid Devon District Council.

Members and officers of the Crediton branch of the Royal British Legion attended a gathering to mark the occasion last week.

The Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch, said that while he does not necessarily condone war, he said it was a good opportunity to express support and remember the service given by the Armed Forces.
